This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the peaceful principles embedded in Islamic teachings, particularly concerning the conduct of war and interfaith relations. The Islamic tradition, as articulated in the Holy Quran and the Sunnah, establishes a normative framework that prioritizes dialogue, justice, and restraint, even in armed conflict. This study systematically examines the Quranic emphasis on rational discourse and the categorical prohibition of compulsion in faith, demonstrating that Islamic ethics are rooted in persuasion and intellectual engagement, not coercion. The paper further analyzes the stringent limitations Islam places on warfare, including the prohibition of indiscriminate killing, the protection of non-combatants, and the banning of mutilation and excessive force. It also explores Quranic injunctions towards justice, forgiveness, and universal brotherhood, arguing that these principles collectively present a model of conflict resolution that is inherently peace-oriented. Regarding verses related to jihad, this analysis contends that they are contextually bound to defensive and self-protective circumstances, with the overarching goal of establishing peace and preventing oppression.
