The purpose of this research is to investigate and analyze the legal scope and permissible examples of parental discipline in Iran and its compatibility with international legal systems. This study collects data with a descriptive-analytical approach and library method, and its findings show that in Iranian law, penal laws such as Article 158 of the Islamic Penal Code give parents limited punishment for raising children, but due to ambiguity in the criteria "Conventional limit" and "child's interest", there are different interpretations of these permissible limits. These ambiguities may in some cases lead to violations of children's rights and violations of international law standards such as the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The results of the research showed that although disciplining parents is one of their rights to raise children, this right should be limited by the principles of human dignity and protection of children's rights. This research also emphasizes the need to review and clarify domestic laws to prevent the abuse of parental authority and protect children's rights more.
